For Lunar New Year 2026, adidas Originals reunites with CLOT by Edison Chen on a collection that leans deeper into cultural storytelling than seasonal novelty. Centered around the Year of the Horse, the capsule draws from themes of vitality, discipline, and forward motion, translating traditional references into footwear, apparel, and accessories that feel intentional rather than ornamental.
After partnering last year on a Year of the Snake-themed adidas Superstar collaboration, adidas Originals and CLOT are back with something familiar yet evolved. The Superstar silhouette returns, but this time as a dress shoe, pushing the iconic shoe into more refined territory.
The storytelling this year also extends beyond product and into animation, with Chen introducing an anime-inspired campaign that casts him as a “key master,” unlocking future chapters of the collaboration throughout 2026.
At the center of the collection is the CLOT Superstar Dress Shoe. Featuring a cowhide upper with a striking horse print, this shoe combines style with flair. It boasts a classic leather shell toe, stitched Three Stripes, and cotton laces with luxe gold tips, finished off with charming leather tassels. Inside, the shoe features a leather lining and a leather-wrapped midsole, while the rubber outsole ensures everyday practicality. Get ready to turn heads with this perfect blend of sophistication and edge.
Kung Fu influences surface throughout the range, particularly in the CLOT Qi Flow sneaker. Designed to emphasize fluidity and movement, the silhouette blends a nylon upper with satin accents, pearl and frog-button closures, and an espadrille-inspired outsole. The result feels ceremonial yet functional, bridging heritage craft with contemporary lifestyle design.
Accompanying the footwear, the CLOT Barrel Bag is a sculptural take on a classic duffel, rendered with clean lines and sturdy handles, perfect for handling travel, studio gear, or just everyday carry with equal ease. On the apparel side, the CLOT Dolman Tee offers a relaxed fit. With a loose shoulder cut that drapes easily, understated graphics, and a comfortable cotton feel, it becomes a staple that works with tailored outerwear as well as a sporty look.
The CLOT Track Jacket continues that balance of Chinese and Western cultural elements, featuring a Mandarin collar, frog-button closures, and rope-detailed Three Stripes. Matching track pants reinterpret the Beckenbauer silhouette with herringbone elastic stirrups and a custom Lunar New Year woven label.
Outerwear stands out as one of the strongest storytelling pieces. The quilted CLOT Jacket, insulated with PrimaLoft Gold Synthetic Fill Down, draws inspiration from a traditional Chinese down jacket. Chen’s careful stripe placement forms a distinctive collar pattern, paired with satin lining, satin braided rope details, and Concho button closures that feel both ceremonial and utilitarian.
