Original Story (01/21/25): Jordan Brand is bringing back the iconic “Pure Money” colorway to the Jordan 3 lineup in July 2025.
Originally introduced in 2007, the “Pure Money” colorway pays homage to one of Michael Jordan’s nicknames, given to him for his signature “Pure Money” jump shot. The all-white colorway serves as a counterpart to the “Black Cat” Jordan 3 that released that same year.
The “Pure Money 3” features a predominately white leather base and upper with matching white elephant print overlays. The sneaker also features a white outsole and metallic silver details carefully placed throughout. Additional standout features include elephant print laces and a silver logo on the tongue and heel. The original shoe also comes with the phrase “Pure $” inscribed on the inside of the heel tabs.
The 2025 edition of the Air Jordan 3 “Pure Money” is expected to stay true to the original release in 2007. While the 2025 re-release of the “Black Cat” 3s didn’t feature “Black Cat” branding on the heel tabs, early images of the 2025 “Pure Money” AJ3s reveal that they come with the same “Pure $” branding as the originals.
