Jordan Brand is bringing back one of the most iconic Air Jordan 4 colorways in its closest recreation of the original yet. The Air Jordan 4 “Bred” is set to return this holiday season, complete with OG-inspired details.

First released in 1989 as one of the original four Air Jordan 4 colorways, the “Bred” quickly became one of Michael Jordan’s most recognizable pairs. Jordan famously wore the shoes during the 1989 NBA All-Star Game, recording 28 points, eight rebounds, four steals, and four blocks.

The “Bred” has since returned several times, with retro releases in 1999, 2008, 2012, and 2019. The 2008 edition was part of Jordan Brand’s “Countdown” Pack, and there was also a “Reimagined” iteration released in 2024 that swapped the traditional nubuck construction for leather.

For 2026, Jordan Brand is going back to the basics. The shoe features the familiar Black, Cement Grey, Summit White, and Fire Red color scheme, with black nubuck covering the upper and Fire Red accents appearing on the Jumpman, inner tongue, and outsole. The panels on the upper also feature white edges reminiscent of the original 1989 release. Nike Air branding returns to the heels, insoles, and outsole.

Like many recent Jordan retros, this pair will arrive in the MJ face box used during the 2000s, adding another layer of nostalgia for the OG sneakerheads who grew up during that era.

This is shaping up to be one of Jordan’s biggest releases of 2026, with early reports pointing to stock numbers surpassing last year’s “Black Cat.”

The Air Jordan 4 OG “Bred” is slated to release in full family sizing on Black Friday, November 27th, via SNKRS and select retailers. Check out earlier retailer images of the 2026 retro below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.
