Jordan Brand revisits its mid-2000s LS (Lifestyle) retro lineup with the return of the Air Jordan 5 “Black/University Blue.”

From 2005-2007, Jordan Brand released a specialized line of Air Jordan retros and new models designed for off-court, daily wear rather than performance basketball. This LS series gave birth to a handful of classic Air Jordan retro colorways, such as the “Cool Grey” 3s“Tour Yellow” 4s, and “Burgundy” 5s. Many of these LS colorways have been brought back in recent years, and the Air Jordan 5 “Black/University Blue” is now getting the same treatment.

Returning in celebration of its 20th anniversary, the Air Jordan 5 “Black/University Blue” features a black nubuck upper with UNC blue contrast stitching that pays homage to Michael Jordan’s alma mater, the University of North Carolina. Additional hit of UNC blue are applied to the liners and Jumpman logos on the heels. Finishing touches include reflective silver tongues and icy translucent outsoles.

The Air Jordan 5 “Black/University Blue” retro is slated to drop on June 20th via SNKRS and select retailers. Grab a first look at the 2026 retro below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.
