Stria Sport has been quietly building one of the more interesting stories in performance footwear, and their latest move adds some serious credibility to that arc. The Chicago-based brand has tapped Andre Drummond, the two-time NBA All-Star, four-time rebounding champion, and current Philadelphia 76er, as creative director and key equity investor, giving him a seat at the table across product development, brand strategy, and athlete partnerships.
As part-owner, Drummond will have direct input into Stria Sport’s next basketball performance shoe, as well as a broader hand in shaping the footwear and apparel pipeline going forward. It’s a relationship that reflects where the brand is heading: athlete-driven from the inside out.
The brand was founded in 2021 and has already gained traction in the basketball world, with over 100 professional players globally wearing the brand on the floor, including during the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. They also hold the official footwear partnership with the Harlem Globetrotters for the team’s 100th-anniversary season. Beyond basketball, the brand has made an early move into pickleball, signing the world’s top-ranked men’s doubles player, Gabe Tardio, to lead that vertical. His debut G1 court shoe with Stria is already out, with the follow-up G1 Pro expected to drop in the coming months.
Drummond is 14 seasons into his NBA career and sits among the most dominant rebounders the league has seen in decades. His 12.0 career rebounds per game is the highest average of any player over the past 25 years.
Stria Sport founder Eric Porter summed up the signing simply, “What truly made this a no-brainer was who he is off the court. From our earliest conversations, we shared a natural connection around creative ideas and a clear vision for where we want to take the brand together,” he says.
With Drummond stepping into a leadership role, the collaboration signals a deeper long-term play — including the development of his own signature Stria Sport basketball shoe, currently in the works.
