NYC-based lifestyle fashion brand and retailer Kith is expanding its operations with the opening of a new flagship store in Chicago in the heart of the city’s Gold Coast neighborhood.
Located right off the Magnificent Mile, Kith Chicago features two floors of Kith’s in-house offerings of apparel, accessories, footwear, and lifestyle goods for men, women, and kids. The location is also home to a new Kith Treats, the ice cream-themed café founded by Ronnie Fieg in 2015.
Fieg collaborated with architect Ben Porto of Porto Architecture to execute his design vision in bringing Kith Chicago to life. The exterior features a leathered Belatrix Stone facade framed with thick brass, while the interior welcomes visitors with dark walnut millwork and a coffered ceiling as they enter the first floor. Belvedere flooring with Montclair Danby marble bordering extends onto a statement staircase, where over thirty curated photographs from Chicago-based artists showcase the city’s architecture and textures as visitors ascend to the second floor.
The upper level is dedicated to Kith Women, additional women’s brands, footwear, and Kith Kids, featuring a lighter space that contrasts the men’s floor. Oak-trimmed lime wash ceilings, Rosa Aurora Macchia Vecchia marble-lined walls, and a custom chandelier centerpiece set the tone as guests explore the space.
The unveiling of Kith Chicago was commemorated with a special Monday Program drop on September 29th, offering a capsule of apparel and accessories with exclusive Kith Chicago artwork. Kith Chicago will also receive an exclusive collection available only in-store on October 3rd, featuring artwork inspired by Chicago landmarks.
But that’s not all. Ronnie Fieg and ASICS also introduce a footwear collection titled “World’s Fair,” a nod to the shared heritage of the World’s Fair between Chicago (1933-1934) and Queens (1939, 1964). The pack includes new iterations of the GEL-LYTE III, Fieg’s signature silhouette, the return of the GEL-KAYANO 12.1 and GEL-LYTE 3.1, and the introduction of the GEL-Mai 0.1. The collection will be available to shop in-store at the Kith Chicago grand opening on October 4th and online on October 6th.
To celebrate the release of the “World’s Fair” pack, Ronnie Fieg and ASICS will host their own ASICS World’s Fair exhibition in Chicago for one day only on Friday, October 3rd. Kith Chicago will be transformed into an ASICS exhibition, showcasing the collection of Kith and Ronnie Fieg for ASICS footwear, alongside rare pairs from Asian and European collectors. Those who wish to view the exhibition and get early access to the collection must enter a draw on the Kith app to be selected. Vitality Loyalty Members are also invited to enter a drawing for a chance to attend a special conversation that night, hosted by Fieg and ASICS.
For those unable to visit Kith Chicago this weekend, the online draw for the Ronnie Fieg for ASICS World’s Fair collection opens Friday, October 3rd, and closes on Sunday, October 5th, on the Kith app. Global availability ranges per silhouette. Limited quantities will also be available as a part of Kith’s Monday Program offering on Monday, October 6th at 11am ET at select Kith Shops, Kith.com, and the Kith App.
Kith Chicago officially opens on Saturday, October 4th, at 10am, located at 54 E Walton Street, with a ribbon cutting ceremony taking place at 9:15am.
