As part of the Kith & Messi for adidas Football collection, Ronnie Fieg and Lionel Messi designed six footwear styles that pay homage to the Argentine superstar’s career through both performance and lifestyle lenses.
As a nod to the first Kith x adidas Football collection from 2017, the new offering features the COPA Mundial 17 UltraBOOST, dressed in an all-white leather upper with snakeskin-embossed texture and contrasting stitching in sky blue. Meanwhile, the F50 Megaride features a blue gradient upper pulled from the classic F50+ cleat from 2005, paired with a translucent midsole that changes appearance with interchangeable insoles, and a Bounce outsole. Rounding out the performance trilogy is the F50 Inframe Walkable Cleat, inspired by the first adidas cleat worn by Messi during the 2006 World Cup.
The lifestyle models include two colorways of the Handball Spezial, a pink iteration that nods to Inter Miami and a white colorway with red, blue, and yellow accents, referencing Messi’s 17 seasons with FC Barcelona. Rounding out the lineup is a deconstructed iteration of the Superstar with white premium leather uppers, featuring a tri-branded logo debossed on the lateral heel.
All styles come with a gift-with-purchase Lionel Messi trading card, with a chance of receiving a PSA-graded card signed by Messi himself. (Note: due to unforeseen quality control issues, trading cards will be shipped at a later date.)
The full Kith & Messi for adidas Football collection drops globally on Friday, May 29th at all Kith stores, as well as at 11AM on Kith.com and the Kith App in the New York, London, Paris, and Tokyo time zones.
