adidas Originals has brought back Kobe Bryant’s signature Crazy 2 sneaker in its original “Silver Metallic” colorway.
Originally released in 2001 as the Kobe Two, this model was Bryant’s fifth and final signature shoe with the Three Stripes. Its design built off the bold boxy aesthetic of the Kobe 1, inspired by the Audi TT Roadster. While some fans loved it, others have called it the ugliest Kobe shoe of all time. Kobe himself was reportedly so dissatisfied with the shoe that he opted to wear the Kobe 1 for the Lakers’ 01-02 Finals run, eventually jumping ship to join team Nike.
One of the OG colorways of the divisive Kobe 2 is the “Silver Metallic,” its polished finish pairing well with the model’s futuristic, sports car-inspired aesthetic. This colorway is now back in 2025 for its first-ever retro release, allowing Kobe fans of all ages to bask in the nostalgia of the early 2000s.
