Earlier this year, Vans made headlines with the release of their “Souvenir” Old Skool 36, a shoe whose design is directly inspired by Chanel’s iconic SS15 “On the Pavements” graffiti messenger bag by Karl Lagerfeld. Designers over at Nike had a similar idea, creating their own Chanel-inspired shoe with the same point of reference: the Air Force 1 “Bouclé,” which transforms the classic model through a high-fashion lens and luxury craftsmanship.
The Air Force 1 “Bouclé” is crafted with distressed olive-colored canvas, matching the construction of Chanel’s messenger bag, while beaded Swoosh outlines, fuzzy bouclé laces, and pink tongue accents reference the pink bouclé trim of the designer piece. A smooth brown leather liner and black speckled midsole round out the premium details.
