Now that Vanessa Bryant and Nike have come to an agreement, the Nike Kobe Protro series can continue where it left off in 2021. Colorways of the Kobe 6 such as the “All-Star” and “POP” were brought back last year to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the silhouette. Another Kobe 6 now expected get the Protro treatment is the “Prelude.”

The Kobe 6 “Prelude” was one of eight Kobe styles in the 2014 “Prelude Pack” that released ahead of the global launch of the Kobe 9 Elite. Each pair paid homage to one of Kobe Bryant’s career highlights, with the Kobe 6 inspired by Bryant’s All-Star MVP status that he won on his home court in Los Angeles. The design of the shoe featured Venice Beach-inspired artwork with ocean creatures such as fish, octopuses, and sharks depicted throughout the upper. The upcoming Protro version will be a reissue of the 2014 version, though slightly updated with modern Nike Basketball technology.

The Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Prelude” is expected to drop this holiday season on Nike.com and at select retailers. Stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for release updates.
