The Nike Mind 001 is back with something new. Following its launch earlier this year in four solid-colored iterations, the pregame mule is now getting the gradient treatment in two colorways: “Geode Teal” and “Team Red.”
On the “Geode Teal,” the uppers transitions from a deep jade to a lighter mint green as you near the sole, with yellow nodes underfoot adding a bright pop of color. The gradient on the “Team Red” colorway is a bit more subtle, dressed primarily in a dark maroon and getting lighter right before reaching the red outsole equipped with deep navy nodes.
If you’re new to Nike Mind, here’s the concept: Nike’s Mind Science Department built 22 foam nodes into the outsole that move up and down as you walk, stimulating sensory receptors in the foot that have been shown to activate brain areas associated with focus and presence. The idea is to keep athletes locked in during their pregame routine. The footbed fabric is stretchy to accommodate nodal movement while remaining soft underfoot, and the midsole foam provides cushioning. The mules also feature a perforated knit tongue and rubber traction pods at the toe and heel.
It’s a solid mule beyond the tech, so if you’re grabbing a pair and usually go half sizes, Nike suggests you size up.
Both gradient colorways of the Nike Mind 001 are set to release on April 2nd via the Nike website (links: Team Red / Geode Teal). You can also try your luck in-store now, as some Nike stores already have the “Team Red” colorway in-stock. Check out the official images below.
