Following its debut in “Light Orewood Brown,” Nike SB’s skate version of the Air Force 1 is now dropping in a classic “Wheat” colorway.
This iteration of the Uptown comes equipped with flax suede uppers, referencing another NYC staple, the wheat Timberland 6″ boot. Long associated with New York’s workwear and streetwear culture, the iconic Timb serves as a fitting source of inspiration for the SB Air Force 1. The monochromatic wheat color scheme and durable suede construction channel the rugged look that made the boot a staple throughout the city, while giving the skate-ready silhouette a versatile aesthetic that’s equally at home on the board or the streets.
Each SB version of the Air Force 1 features modifications made specifically for skating, including a heel Air unit for impact protection, a reduced midsole height for enhanced board feel, and a modified herringbone tread pattern for optimal grip and flexibility. Additional updates include internal tongue straps, fit pods on the back of the heels, a reinforced padded tongue, and a refined toe profile.
The Nike SB Air Force 1 “Wheat” (aka “Flax”) drops June 5th at select skate shops, followed by a SNKRS release on June 9th. Check them out below.
