Rocking the black/pink colorway during Coachella, Virgil Abloh first unveiled the Off-White x Nike Zoom Terra Kiger last month via his Instagram story. Nike has since released more details about this upcoming release. The Off-White x Nike Zoom Terra Kiger is part of a women’s running collection called “Athlete in Progress”. The collection itself debuted in Paris last September as part of Off-White’s SS19 runway show with athletes Dina Asher Smith, Vashti Cunningham, Cecilia Yeung, English Gardner, Katarina Johnson-Thompson, Nafi Thiam, Caterine Ibarguen and Rénelle Lamote. Here’s what Virgil had to say about the project:
“I started talking with Nike about this women’s running project last summer and at the time, I was very much inspired by the aesthetic and style of track and field athletes. As a result, I invited some of Nike’s elite track and field champions to participate in my SS19 Off-White runway show as the natural forerunner to developing and showcasing the collection.”
The collection will include three colorways of the Off-White x Nike Zoom Terra Kiger, as well as a run top and tight. See the collection below and mark your calendars for its global release on June 27th.
On one side I’m happy that there are still more Off-White x Nike releases to come. On the other side I’m not sure what to think about this particular silhouette.
