Original Story (03/09/25): One of the most anticipated releases from adidas in 2025 is the Adistar Jellyfish, a new silhouette created in collaboration with Pharrell Williams.
First spotted on Pharrell’s feet during the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, the Adistar Jellyfish is a bold, premium reinterpretation of the adidas Adistar Cushion 3, a running shoe introduced in 2005. According to former adidas design director Zac Andrews, the shoe is inspired by the original Adistar’s wind-flow aesthetic, and early concepts explored ways for the shoe to expand and contract, like muscles bridging bones.
The Adistar Jellyfish features a mesh base with 3D-molded TPU layers throughout the upper. These protruding elements form a sort of exoskeleton that adds even more dimension to the already beefed-up Adistar. Stylized “jellyfish” branding appears on the shoe’s tongue, along with the word “Virginia,” paying homage to the home state of the Louis Vuitton creative director.

Update (06/26/25): Various colorways of the Adistar Jellyfish have been revealed during Paris Fashion Week Men’s SS26. Pharrell wore a primarily brown pair with yellow accents during his Louis Vuitton show, and also debuted a white/green pair at a pop-up at Jah Jah Paris, where attendees were able to cop the orange colorway ahead of the global launch that’s expected to take place in August.
Meanwhile, Pusha T and Malice of the Clipse debuted a white/grey colorway at the Jah Jah Sound System x adidas Community Activation powered by VIRGINIA at Fête de la Musique, where they surprised the audience with a live performance of tracks from their upcoming album.
Additionally, a white/blue pair was previewed, and we also got a closer look at the “Triple Black” colorway that Pusha T debuted a while back. Check them all out below and stay tuned for global launch info.
