The VIRGINIA Vario Flat Earther is the newest silhouette from Pharrell Williams‘ ongoing partnership with adidas Originals, and the contrast with its predecessor, the VIRGINIA Adistar Jellyfish, couldn’t be more intentional: one designed to make you feel as if you’re floating with each step, the other made to keep you grounded.
The base for the Flat Earther is the adidas Yoga Vario, a Fall/Winter 2004 silhouette that was originally designed around the principles of yoga and mindful movement. Pharrell pulls it from the archive and creates a silhouette that lands squarely in lifestyle territory. The result is a laceless, low-profile slip-on made from full-grain leather with a leather-lined interior, an EVA insole, and a direct-injection outsole. It’s minimal, supple, and built to move quietly.
Two colorways are dropping to start, white with green Three Stripes and white with black, both anchored by the same clean cream base. The Three Stripes sweep dramatically from the lateral toe across to the medial midfoot, while the adidas logo appears both at the tongue and heel. Flip the shoe over, and the outsole features an abstract traction pattern with “VIRGINIA” stamped in repeated patterns across, a detail that ties the shoe back to Pharrell’s creative platform.
