Original Story (01/26/21): French label Pigalle is collaborating with Nike for their Fall 2021 Menswear Collection, including two colorways of a velvety Air Jordan 1.
The collection itself includes outerwear and hoodies in metallic hues and plenty of branding. With an emphasis on color and texture, the shiny pieces match well with the softness of velvet in the Air Jordan 1 contributions. One comes in a monochromatic berry color, pink laces and a cream tongue, while the other has a beige upper balanced on a white midsole that matches the white laces. Amid the futuristic theme dressing the sport and utility pieces, the all-velvet Air Jordan rounds out the collection.
Stéphane Ashpool, Pigalle’s founder and designer, maintains the feeling of close-knit family that resembles the neighborhood of the same name. “You can breathe and feel movement,” says Ashpool. The same can be said for the nature of the collection.

Update (01/27/21): Stéphane Ashpool has taken to Instagram to provide a closer look at the velvet Air Jordan 1 Mids used for the Pigalle FW21 show. In the caption, the designer clarifies that these are bespokes and will not be releasing.
