Pokémon is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, and PUMA is joining the festivities with an exciting new footwear and apparel collection. The lineup is built around a day-and-night theme, starring Pikachu and Espeon on the “Day” side and Mimikyu and Umbreon as their “Night” counterparts.
The footwear lineup includes a Pikachu-themed PUMA Fade Nitro, dressed in vibrant yellow and finished with a crumpled black leather heel panel that mimics the crackle of lightning. Espeon lands on the PUMA Mostro, featuring a fuzzy pink upper, a deep magenta heel, and a debossed crystal ball motif that highlights its Psychic typing. On the darker side, the Umbreon Fade Nitro incorporates moon and star detailing on the heel, nodding to its Dark-type identity.
Rounding out the footwear is a Mimikyu-themed PUMA Inverse, built with a textile upper inspired by the rag disguise the Ghost/Fairy Pokémon uses to conceal its true form. Each style in the collection includes a character-specific keychain hangtag, Pokédex numbers on the inner tongues, and corresponding graphics on the insoles.
The apparel continues the day-and-night theme, dressed in a palette comprised of Espeon-inspired light hues like lavender and pink and Umbreon-inspired black and yellow. Key pieces include PUMATECH-X tracksuits, Umbreon and Espeon mesh jerseys with their Pokédex numbers across the chest, and graphics hoodies and tees for all four Pokémon. Accessories such as caps, crossbody bags, and a Pikachu backpack complete the offering.
Apart from this “Day & Night” collection, PUMA Basketball is dropping its own Pokémon collection featuring a “Pikachu” All-Pro NITRO 2, in, of course, a striking yellow colorway.
