Ronnie Fieg is revisiting the “Cyclades” colorway from his 2016 New Balance 997.5 Mykonos pack for a new colorway of the 990v2 releasing as part of the Kith 10 year anniversary celebration. This release was first teased in the Kith Fall 2021 lookbook.
The original “Cyclades” 997.5 was inspired by a trip Fieg took to the Nammos resort in Mykonos, Greece. The tri-color design features the same tones as this photo taken by Fieg during the trip. The orange represents the umbrellas, the beige is the soft sand, and the seafoam green on the heel mirrors the waters of the Aegean Sea. The upcoming 990v2 mirrors this color scheme as well as the materials, once again opting for pigskin suede upper. A white midsole rounds out the design.
