The New Balance 997S been stuntin’ since Winter ’18 by way of collaborative releases with Kith and now Bodega. Both collabs utilize the 997S’s strength in materials to create high-end kicks that match the values of their high-end retailer collaborators. This isn’t Bodega’s first rodeo with New Balance – they released a NB 998 together in May ’18 and a 557 all the way back in Fall ’13 too.
These new Bodega joints are absolutely insane in the quality department just like past installments. The star of these 997Ss is the ultra-premium brushed suede that’s used on the toe and midfoot. A mesh vamp is contrasted with a multi-textured heel region to give these badboys even more depth. There’s all kinds of colors scattered throughout the shoe – we see hints of purple, pink, tan, green, peach, black and grey… a whole mess of colors!
