UNDEFEATED is adding another Air Jordan to its collaborative résumé, this time taking on the Air Jordan 5 with a military-inspired project expected to arrive in two colorways.
Following the 2025 return of the coveted UNDEFEATED x Air Jordan 4 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their original 2005 collaboration, the Los Angeles streetwear label is now turning its attention to the Air Jordan 5. As first reported by trusted leakers brandon1an and Sneaker Market RO, the upcoming project is expected to include both “Moon Fossil” and “Light Chocolate” colorways, accompanied by a collaborative apparel collection.
A sample of the “Moon Fossil” has since surfaced, revealing a number of UNDEFEATED-specific details throughout the design. The shoe features a canvas construction with the brand’s Five Strikes logo embroidered in olive on the lateral heel, while “NIKE UND” replaces the traditional “NIKE AIR” branding on the back of the heel. The reflective tongue is finished with the Five Strikes debossed across its surface, while a tonal circular pattern is embroidered around the ankle.
Reflective quarter panels sit beneath the signature netting, while reflective tongue strips and heel loops are pulled from the Nike Air Zoom Spiridon, which UNDEFEATED also collaborated on in 2025. Black leather lines the interior, including the co-branded insoles.
Further nods to the Air Jordan 5’s history can be found on the inner tongue, where a stitched tag reads “DATE OF MFG FEB 1990,” referencing the year the original Air Jordan 5 debuted.
The military influence is particularly fitting for UNDFTD, whose design language has long drawn from military and utility aesthetics. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the original Air Jordan 5 itself was inspired by the World War II-era P-51 Mustang fighter plane, with its shark-tooth midsole detailing and aggressive lines borrowing from the aircraft’s design. The “Moon Fossil” and “Light Chocolate” colorways appear to continue that connection through their muted, military-inspired tones.
