Vans had the internet in a chokehold last summer with the launch of the Old Skool 36 Souvenir, a twist on the classic silhouette inspired by Chanel’s iconic On the Pavements graffiti messenger bag from 2015. Following up the debut “Warm Brown” colorway and the sophomore “Burgundy” pair, Vans now unveils four new iterations set to release in the coming months.
What made the Souvenir stand out in the first place wasn’t just the reference point, it was the way Vans translated it through the Old Skool. The silhouette combines spray-painted canvas uppers with premium leather overlays and a multicolored tweed Jazz Stripe, creating a layered look that feels equal parts luxury-inspired and skate-ready. Removable Vans-themed pins add another customizable element, allowing wearers to make each pair their own.
The latest lineup expands the concept with four new colorways: “Asphalt,” “Faded Black,” “Oatmeal,” and “Navy.” Each maintains the same mixed-material construction and intentionally weathered aesthetic that helped the earlier releases sell out, while offering a wider range of styling options. The collection also falls under Vans’ Premium banner, meaning updated materials, improved comfort, and refined construction designed to elevate one of the brand’s most recognizable silhouettes.
More than a seasonal color refresh, the Old Skool 36 Souvenir continues to build on the idea of the sneaker as a personal keepsake. Between the removable pins, textured materials, and handcrafted appearance, every pair feels designed to collect memories rather than simply complete an outfit.
The Vans Old Skool 36 Souvenir “Asphalt” drops June 25th via Vans.com and select retailers, with an early release via UNDEFEATED beginning June 21st. The “Faded Black” and “Oatmeal” colorways follow on July 23rd, and the “Navy” colorway closes things out on August 20th. Check out all four colorways below.
